“If you’re brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting, which can be anything from your house to bitter, old resentments, and set out on a truth-seeking journey, either externally or internally, and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher and if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself, then the truth will not be withheld from you.”
I read this quote today, and the truth of it really struck me.
When I first made the decision to move to Saudi Arabia, it was a bit to get a break from some stressors that had gotten to be a bit much at the time… And to go and learn and experience a new culture… But now that I’ve been here 8 months, I realize how it is infinitely more than that!!
I have grown in ways I didn’t think I ever would… I’ve developed skills and characteristics I never had before… I’ve become stronger and more fearless but yet more appreciative and sensitive…
I’ve learned things about myself I didn’t know existed.
And the journey continues on! There is so much more to come yet!
So… Stay tuned… I am miles behind on my blogging, half of my Egypt trip to come yet as well as Bahrain… Dubai weekends… And some of the amazing perspectives I’ve gained through the last few months at work and living in Saudi Arabia.
Also… I leave on an adventure to Portugal, Spain and Holland tomorrow 😄😄😄 so that will be up… In maybe a year or so at my blogging speeds 😕
